A Poem A Day Keeps...Something Away
For the next three months, the whole of June, July and August, I want to challenge myself to read a poem a day. Each poem can and will come from any source be it book, newspaper or computer screen, although the fact that I have a bajillion books of poetry in my possession may make the sourcing a bit book-heavy.
My hope is that with morning tea I can enjoy some morning verse, and as the tea works itself through me throughout the day, with bladder as goal, the poem too shall work through me, its goal less clear. At the end of the day I hope to 'publish' a post that will reflect on my day (the trivial blogging voice) through the lens of the morning rhyme, alliteration, metaphor, whatever it may be. In this way I hope to become privy to what is kept away; if I read a poem a day, what will I keep at bay?
Feeling Challenged Already,
